校友會成立晚會有感

年十月某日，當我在三樓教員室屬於自己狹窄的空間內埋首工作時，頃接校友會內務副主席溫美玉校友送上的元朗商會中學校友會成立晚會請柬。驟然回想，運指一算，畢業同學已屆十八。歲月忽忽，流水落花，商中無間地為社會培育精英棟樑，桃李滿門，校友們在各行各業努力工作，堅守岡位，為香港特區的安定、繁榮及未來發光發熱，籌辦成立晚會極具重大的實質意義。

晚會在黃金海岸酒店宴會廳舉行，當晚場地安排及程序處理，儘顯校友會籌委們深思熟慮，準備充足，大方得體，靈活變通，使到會者心境快慰，如沫春風，歷久難平。

各屆校友們能聚首一堂，與老師互訴近況及前塵往事，凝結友誼，增進諒解；更有部份校友拖男帶女，攜眷出席，對校友會的支持難以用筆墨形容。席間，刁培光校長展示其天籟歌聲，鼓動老師及校友們捐助校友會活動經費，為日後校友會茁壯成長提供原動力。

好的開始己是成功的一半，但據籌組學生會校友反映，在聯絡近幾屆畢業同學加入校友會大家庭時，同學表現不太活躍，期望校友會及學校能共同合作，探索因由，積極進取，推動及壯大會員數額。同時寄望校友會能舉辦多類型師友及友生活動，增加了解，相互合作，建立共同目標，使學生會能持續發展，會務蒸蒸日上，前程錦繡。

　　　The YLMASS alumni association chartered night was a memorable event to me and probably to all those who were present. It was so good to see so many familiar faces and smiles. Time, distance and busy life keep people apart but you feel no strangers that night. I hope that with such a good start, the alumni association would strengthen the connections amongst the old fellows and between us and the school. Looking back, I think the period between the age of 12 to17 is critical to a person's growth and development. I was lucky to be taught by the good teachers at YLMASS, both academically and spiritually. Therefore I would like to take this chance to extend my most sincere thanks to the principal and my teachers at YLMASS for their enthusiasm, hard work and their love for the students. Also I remember that at the time I went to YLMASS, it was a very young school. To develop a new school to a successful one is not easy and they did it. Lastly I would like to say thank you to those who contributed their precious time and energy to organize the wonderful party and the alumni association. I wish the YLMASS alumni association every success.
