Reimagining our Chinese Heroes – A Character Design Competition Featuring the Chinese Heroic Figures

Form 2 students participated in Reimagining our Chinese Heroes on 31st March 2023, an interdisciplinary activity held by the Co-curricular Activities Committee in collaboration with the Reading Team, Chinese, Chinese History, Visual Arts, Music, Home Economics and Design & Technology. The activity is an outfit design competition that aims to enhance students' interest in learning about Chinese heroes, their contributions, and the virtues they embody.

 

In preparing for the competition, students researched famous Chinese heroic figures such as Emperor Qin Shihuang, Empress Wu Zetian, General Yue Fei and Emperor Kangxi and redesigned outfits for them. They also had to select suitable background music for the fashion catwalk. The activity is a good opportunity for students to consolidate and apply their learning from the above-mentioned subjects.

 

Students definitely wowed the audience with their art and musical talents as their presented the outfits on stage.
