Student Shines at Animal Photopoetry Creative Challenge
Date: 29/03/2026
We are delighted to share that 5E Khan Hamad Alijah has been awarded the Commendable Award at the Animal Photopoetry Creative Challenge, held on 6 February 2026 (Friday).
The competition is co-organised by the English Language Education Section and the Arts Education Section of the Curriculum Development Institute, the Education Bureau, in collaboration with Ocean Park Hong Kong. It is designed as a cross-curricular activity that brings together English poetry, visual arts, and a love for the natural world. About 800 secondary students from all over Hong Kong participated in this competition, making it a truly competitive one.
This year, 9 Secondary 5 students were selected to represent our school in the competition. On that day, they visited Ocean Park, where they observed animals up close, photographed them, and used their experience as inspiration to compose original poems. It was a hands-on and meaningful activity that encouraged students to look closely, think creatively, and express themselves with both words and images.
The experience was memorable for all participants. Congratulations again to Hamad Alijah on this achievement.
