S5 Citizenship and Social Development Mainland Study Tour to Shenzhen
Date: 17/10/2026
Amidst the pleasant autumn weather of October, our S5 students stepped outside the classroom from October 16 to 17, 2026, for a 2-day, 1-night Citizenship and Social Development Mainland Study Tour to Shenzhen, gaining first-hand insights into the city's latest developments.
The two-day itinerary featured immersive learning experiences across several landmark destinations:
Students visited the Shenzhen-Hong Kong Exchange Hall and Innovation Space to learn about youth exchange initiatives in the Greater Bay Area, gaining a clearer picture of Shenzhen's rapid technological growth.
Exploring this major science and innovation hub, students tried out various interactive exhibits on new energy vehicles and telecommunications, experiencing firsthand how modern technology enhances everyday life.
This 350-year-old village has been beautifully restored to preserve its Hakka architecture, culinary traditions, and wedding customs. Apart from exploring cultural conservation efforts, students visited the Gankeng Cannon Tower to reflect on the heroic local resistance against foreign aggression during World War II.
Through comprehensive urban design exhibitions, students explored the transformative journey of the Shenzhen Special Economic Zone and witnessed the remarkable achievements of China's reform and opening-up policy.
